Swimming

This week we had our first swimming days. It was lovely to get into the pool when it was so hot! We are learning to be confident in and around the water. We have been working on getting into the pool, building our confidence in moving around the water, putting our head under, blowing bubbles and floating.

Some of us have even been swimming around the pool using strokes we know from our swimming lessons. Others of us felt a little bit scared getting into the school pool for the first time but we were all very brave. Thank you very much to our parent helpers. We wouldn’t be able to enjoy swimming without your help.

Number Formation

One of our rotations for maths is to learning to form our numbers correctly. This means looking very carefully at the numbers of the hundreds board and copying them onto our whiteboards. Vanessa is very proud of our effort. In only three weeks we have already made a great improvement. How do you think we are doing?

Matty came up with the idea to flip the numbers on the hundreds board once everyone had done them. This made is easier to see where we were up to. Fantastic thinking Matty!

Buddy Time

We are so happy to have Adventure 9 as our buddies this year! They came to share a book with us and their teacher, Kerri, spoke about the different ways we can read a book. So after our buddies read the words to us, we could read the pictures to them. We worked very well to learn together which showed our value of Kotahitanga unity and togetherness.
Thank you Adventure 9 and Kerri. We are so lucky to have you!

Catch Me if You Can!

This morning we had our first Catch Me if You Can session. We are learning about movement. We all had so much fun! We noticed we found some movements were easier to do than others. Some movements like walking on heels and throwing balls were a little bit tricky to do! We really had to think about where our eyes should be watching.

Here are some of photos of our learning:
